    No Words to Say

Lately, I have not much to say because I’ve been dedicating more time to reflect and disconnect. I am not going through anything in particular other than being a little under the weather. I think my body is telling me to take a break. This month seems so long, but it has been very beneficial. I started this year off focused. I dedicated my energy towards only productive things. My 2-minute rule is still in effect. I cut down my screen time, spent more awareness in the moments, dedicated more time to movement, and listened more without offering input. In my quietness, I have found clarity and motivation to advance…

What’s the big deal with Juicing?

Monday I did a 24-hour juice cleanse which sparked a lot of conversation around the office. Lately, with all the fad dieting everyone wants to try the latest diet trend, but for me juicing is different. It’s vital for me to listen to my body. When I can’t shake the feeling of being bloated or know I haven’t been eating well, I cleanse. This gives it time to break down the things in my system and the chance to rest. Simple & Sweet: Bywater Bakery

I like to think of myself as a connoisseur of bakeries and breakfast. Bywater Bakery is at the top of the list for both! It’s my favorite meal of the day, and I could eat it at any time. Savory or sweet (usually I have both)– it doesn’t matter to me.  There is a new bakery in the New Orleans Bywater that you must try. It’s a great place to meet for a casual business meeting or to grab “geaux cup.” I like to get the cup of grits with eggs and bacon with a vanilla iced coffee. When there is surplus or too softly baked turnovers, the owners give them…

Auction House Market: The Sampler’s Playground

Food Halls are in right now and New Orleans seems to be doing them well; my favorite — Auction House Market in Downtown New Orleans. Just minutes from the warehouse district, this food hall has some of New Orleans’ top restaurants all in one place.  I had dishes from Elysian Seafood, EmpaNola, and Mac & Moon.  Elysian Seafood had a crab salad to start. Fresh crab meat atop a hearty lettuce salad with a light lemon vinaigrette was a great way to start my meal. The portion was so large I could not finish it even if I weren’t tasting other bites in the food hall.  EmpaNola has the best…

    Meddling in Midtown Miami

With Art Basel still looming in the air, I was reminded how much midtown Miami is such a treat. Usually praised for South Beach and the nightlife, Miami’s midtown often gets overlooked. But if one day you want a chill vibe complete with sweets and treats, you’ve got to get there.  First, a few friends and I started off with brunch at Habitat. It is located in South Beach’s 1 Hotel (right before midtown). The hotel is all about nature and the food reflects that– so fresh and whole. You can taste the difference.  I ordered the crab & lobster benedicts. So delicious, topped with cured bacon. The ice coffee was…
