    Palm Sunday

Yesterday was Palm Sunday. I went to church while visiting with my mom in Houston. I grew up in church, and while I am not a big believer of religion, I believe in spirituality. I am not here to convert you, I promise, but I do want to share something very profound the moment I heard it. Because it was Palm Sunday, the pastor spoke about the events that happened to Jesus. He rode in on a donkey, they waved palms symphonizing acceptance and peace, and that night Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane after the Lord’s Supper. In the garden, Jesus asked 3 of his disciples to keep…

    Accepting Help

In our quest to conquer the rest of the year with no apologizes and in a healthy mindset, we have to get accustom to accepting help. We live in a society that tells us to go, go, go! And we have to do so unapologetically and independently. That is a sure way to get burned out! To alleviate stress, get used to asking for assistance. We usually think we are burdening other people by asking for aid but in general, people want to help. If you continue to put good energy out, and do things the with best intentions, people will not think twice when you need help. I was…

Struggles of Moving into New Quarter

Today is April 1, usually a time for mischief. But, today it doesn’t feel like fun and games. Who wants to play pranks when real life feels like one exhausting joke? Yesterday, I got to play some beach volleyball with my friends. The day was beautiful, the competition was good, and the company was great. But looking back through day there where little shadows of unfortunate events. The last of those being the lost of a great member of the community, Nipsey Hussle. Every time something happened that wasn’t aligned with positive energy, I stopped, prayed, and radiated as much positivity into the universe as I could. But the end…

    I Am in Control

Saturday is I am in Control Day. This should be an international holiday for us! What a great day to celebrate being selfish by getting our lives more in order and minimizing the feeling of being “out of control.” As we end the first quarter of the year, we must maintain control of our journey for the next part of the year. We should have a clear vision for the rest of our year and have the plans in place to get them done. You don’t need to have specifics in place but look at what you have accomplished thus far. What would you like to change or add to…

    Less Than the Best

This weekend I had my first curating project as an independent contractor. I was so nervous. My plans were detailed and specific. Organization is my best friend and keeps me settled. I will not accept anything less than the best. After the events, everyone acclaimed how great they were and how much fun they had! The photo optics were perfect. And do you know how I felt after? Unhappy with the end product. There were so many things that fell through the cracks. So many missed marks and details that really expand the experience. Ideas that didn’t hit the “wow factor” I would have liked them too. My debrief report,…
