Simple & Sweet: Bywater Bakery

I like to think of myself as a connoisseur of bakeries and breakfast. Bywater Bakery is at the top of the list for both! It’s my favorite meal of the day, and I could eat it at any time. Savory or sweet (usually I have both)– it doesn’t matter to me.

There is a new bakery in the New Orleans Bywater that you must try. It’s a great place to meet for a casual business meeting or to grab “geaux cup.” I like to get the cup of grits with eggs and bacon with a vanilla iced coffee.

When there is surplus or too softly baked turnovers, the owners give them out to patrons. And I will never tell them (because I like free stuff) but those pasties taste just as perfect to me.

And look at the beautify cake creations they have below. All different flavors and so beautiful! I can’t wait to get back to this place and sample them all!

And the best part about it is they’re available for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. There are cakes, pies, turnovers, quiches, soups, salads, drinks. They will even take special requests on cake orders.

What I enjoy most about the Bywater Bakery are the people who work there. They’re resident of the neighbor. They understand the culture of New Orleans. The people who come in are neighborhood regulars who everyone knows by name. The guys baking in the kitchen take personal care in their service and acknowledge everyone who walks through the door. And that’s how you know it’s not just the ovens keeping this place warm.
