What’s the big deal with Juicing?

Monday I did a 24-hour juice cleanse which sparked a lot of conversation around the office. Lately, with all the fad dieting everyone wants to try the latest diet trend, but for me juicing is different.

It’s vital for me to listen to my body. When I can’t shake the feeling of being bloated or know I haven’t been eating well, I cleanse. This gives it time to break down the things in my system and the chance to rest.

Foods are processed to preserve shelf life and, in return those preservatives make our bodies work extra hard to get to the nutrients.

Juicing is also adds a mental component for me. I have to work hard to focus because my body is changing to adapt to the new way of eating. Also, your brain will tell your body it’s hungry even when you aren’t because it’s used to eating at a specific time. You have to trust that the amounts of fruits and veggies in your juice is enough.

It is also essential that you know what’s in your juice. You also need enough to sustain you during the day. My 24-hour juice cleanse was a 6 pack from Main Squeeze. That keeps me full. Some of the juices are a bit sweet for me, so I make sure to drink plenty of water with them.
