Meddling in Midtown Miami

With Art Basel still looming in the air, I was reminded how much midtown Miami is such a treat. Usually praised for South Beach and the nightlife, Miami’s midtown often gets overlooked. But if one day you want a chill vibe complete with sweets and treats, you’ve got to get there.

First, a few friends and I started off with brunch at Habitat. It is located in South Beach’s 1 Hotel (right before midtown). The hotel is all about nature and the food reflects that– so fresh and whole. You can taste the difference.

I ordered the crab & lobster benedicts. So delicious, topped with cured bacon. The ice coffee was nothing special but still refreshing.

Next, we walked around Wynwood. You have never seen street art until you’ve been here. Murals and graffiti that overwhelms the eye at every turn. These artists provoke thought, emotion, and laughter. Make sure you look at different angles, too.

Next, we grabbed a sweet treat at the renowned, Salty Donut. Make sure you have some time to kill because the line is usually out of the small coffee shop’s door. When you get to the front you’ll see why. So many options and taste pairings to choose from.

Afterwards, we took our treats upstairs to No. 3 Social for happy hour. There’s nothing on the menu I wouldn’t order but if you’re having trouble deciding go for the ceviche and talk the bar tender your spirit of choice and they’ll craft something special for you!
