Sucre Gets Savory

Everyone in New Orleans knows Sucre is the place to go for elegant sweets. Their desserts are works of art made with the finest French techniques. The colors are bright and the flavors are bold. There are just gorgeous to look at and now they’re offering more.

At their French Quarter location, Sucre now offers brunch and a great brunch at that. During restaurant week, they had a phenomenal menu (taste and price-wise) that left me full and happy.

A seafood crepe with creme sauce is everything you shouldn’t have, but need to have all at the same time. The serving size is very generous considering the price and it is considered a “tapas”.

I sampled the tacos with a friend and they were executed very well. The shell was the most delicious which shouldn’t be so surprising since it is a bakery in the first place.

Lastly, my friend and I ordered bread pudding and an eclair for dessert. Both desserts were heavenly. I even took an eclair to go because I knew I’d want to taste it again later.

We finished our meals with dessert cocktails, my favorite! Espresso martinis were just what we needed to finish our pleasant outing. Then, we walked off our calories sightseeing and dancing to the live music you can find on the street corners.
