The Truth About CBD Oil

For me, physical activity is a big part of my self-are regiment. I like to stay active throughout the week– boxing, beach volleyball, running, yoga, biking. Anything that will help me burn negative and excess energy productively, I will try. To keep my body in great shape to endure these activities, I make sure I’m using quality products to keep up my physical maintenance.

Today, I want to share with you a little about CBD oil. There’s a lot conversation surrounding the topic especially with Canada being the latest country to legalize weed. And although CBD isn’t weed, because of the negative stigma marijuana has, people are losing out on a beneficial rehabilitating product.

What is CBD?

The long unnecessary word is cannabidiol . It responds directly with receptors we have in our body responsible for feeling pleasure and pain and acts positively with these receptors. It is TOTALLY legal. There is no THC in the CBD oil which is the other part of the marijuana plant responsible for making you “trip”.
The big pharmaceutical companies who help shape policy on marijuana knows with the legalization of marijuana, the sales of many synthetic, unnecessary drugs will decrease and lose them big dollars. And keep these natural healthy alternative wrapped in political red tape.

What does it do?

The body produces cannabidiol and the two main receptors responsible to receive these effects are receptors CB1 and CB2. The CBD oil attaches to these receptors and cause reactions in the body.

CB1 are all over but mainly found in the brain. They effect mood, memory, appetite, thinking and pain.
CB2 encourages the body to make more of its own cannabidiol in response to pain and inflammation which is ideal when you’re highly active with your self care.

How do you use it?

I have oil drops that include turmeric (another agent to help inflammation). I put a few drops under my tongue before my activity to give my body a jump start on recovery, while I am working.
After, I message the oil on my particularly sore or swollen spots followed by ice. I have an old injury that will flare sometimes and my recovery is so much better.
Other benefits:
Research has shown that CBD oil works well for people dealing with anxiety by calming nerves. I’ve also seen reports that it helps with memory lost common in older people.
