The Most Pleasant Brunch: Medina of Vancouver

Why had no one ever told me how peaceful Vancouver was? Not to mention, I don’t know when I will get back to this place but, I must. And I stopped at its well-known breakfast spot- Medina, with the most delightful waffles and decadent coffees.

Georgia Straight voted Medina as the best of Vancouver 5 years in a row among other awards I eyed in the restaurant.
Liege-style waffles are their claim to fame. White chocolate pistachio rosewater is actually a flavor. And no it’s not too much. Actually, It’s just right as a glaze to have with your waffle I’ve never had flavors married together so seamlessly like this topping.
I had a lavender latte with soy to wash it down. As you could imagine, the taste was just as captivating as the aroma.
For brunch, I had the lamb frittata with potatoes and rustic tomatoes backed in. I couldn’t finish it all.
While the name Medina has many interpretations, it was selected for its connotation to “radiant or enlightened city”. Indeed, this unique café quickly shone as one of the city’s most stylish additions. Thanks to owner Robbie Kane’s pioneering attitude towards café culture and distinctive brand of enlightened hospitality — an ideal complement for the café’s instantly memorable, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.

This restaurant alone has me wanting to get back there tomorrow.
